1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Sentimentick, Inc. ("Sentimentick," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and secures the personal information of visitors and users of our stock sentiment and narrative intelligence terminal (the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not access or use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information from and about users of our Service to provide a reliable, authenticated experience, including:
- Account Information: When you register an account, you provide your email address, name, and password credentials. Paid plans also associate billing statuses with your user profile.
- Custom Configurations: We store user-specific dashboard settings, portfolios in your watchlists, and threshold configurations for your custom alerts.
- Developer API Details: When you generate developer API keys, we record key labels, creation dates, and metadata tracking last-used timestamps.
- Usage & Performance Analytics: We log API endpoints accessed, request frequencies (to monitor rate limits and monthly quotas), page latencies, and system performance metrics.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for various business purposes, including to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the core functionalities of the narrative intelligence terminal.
- Process transactions, upgrade plans, and verify active Pro/Enterprise plan permissions using payment handlers.
- Enforce rate limits, track subscription usage, and secure endpoints from unauthorized programmatic scraping.
- Send technical notices, system status updates, account alerts, and support responses.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics to optimize data pipeline latencies and overall platform uptime.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information with trusted third parties only to the extent necessary to deliver the Service, including:
- Payment Processors: We partner with PayPal to capture order checkouts and handle subscriptions. We do not store your credit card details on our servers; billing transactions are completed on PayPal's secure portal.
- Hosting Providers: Our databases and APIs are hosted on cloud infrastructure that enforces strict physical and logical access controls.
- Legal Obligations: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the safety, rights, and security of Sentimentick, our users, or the public.
5. Security of Your Data
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure:
- All communication between your browser and our API endpoints is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS/SSL) protocols.
- User credentials and passwords are encrypted and stored utilizing standard secure one-way hashing algorithms.
- Developer keys are hashed on the database backend. Active keys are only displayed to the creator once at the time of generation.
Please note, however, that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute data security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your user account remains active, or as necessary to provide the Service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and comply with regulatory records retention mandates.
If you delete your account, we will remove your account profile, custom watchlists, and active API keys, subject to any retention required for historical billing logs.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Request the deletion of your account and personal details.
- Object to or request restrictions on the processing of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, please submit a request to our legal support email. We will verify your identity before processing the request.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated last-updated date. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any updates.
11. Third-Party Content Sources & Copyright
Sentimentick aggregates publicly available financial news, market commentary, and community discussion threads from third-party platforms and publications for informational research purposes. These sources include, but are not limited to, Yahoo Finance, MarketWatch, CNBC, CNN Business, Seeking Alpha, Benzinga, and Reddit community threads.
All third-party content displayed within Sentimentick is:
- Attributed to its original source with a visible copyright notice (e.g. "© MarketWatch, Inc. / Dow Jones & Company") displayed on each evidence card.
- Accompanied by a direct link to the original article or post, allowing users to access the full content at its source.
- Shown as short excerpts only (the RSS-provided article description or post summary), consistent with fair use principles for aggregation, commentary, and research.
- Not reproduced in full. Sentimentick does not store or display complete articles, only the brief excerpt published in the source's public RSS feed or public API endpoint.
All content rights, trademarks, and intellectual property remain with their respective copyright holders. Sentimentick makes no claim of ownership over third-party content. If you are a rights holder and believe content is being used outside fair use, please contact us at contact@sentimentic.com and we will review and respond promptly.
12. Anonymization of Third-Party Content Authors
When ingesting user-generated content from platforms such as Reddit, Sentimentick applies automatic anonymization before any data is stored in our systems:
- Individual usernames, handles, or pseudonyms from Reddit posts are never stored in Sentimentick's database.
- Community posts are attributed collectively to the platform (e.g. "Reddit Community") rather than to any individual user.
- No personally identifiable information (PII) from third-party post authors is retained, processed, or displayed on the Sentimentick platform.
For news articles and press releases, the author field is set to a generic publication identifier (e.g. "Financial Wire") derived from the RSS feed metadata. Sentimentick does not store or display individual journalist names or reporter bylines.
This anonymization approach is implemented in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) principle of data minimization, and similar requirements under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other applicable privacy laws.
